Sheryl is the co-owner of Red Diamond Yoga, and truly believes in the power of yoga to heal. She discovered yoga over 10 years ago, while suffering from many common physical and emotional issues. She fell in love with the practice, and while building physical strength she began to awaken. She learned first-hand that practicing yoga creates awareness of the self and provides the tools to heal, physically and emotionally. Practicing yoga has been transformational for her. Out of her own healing journey, her compassion for others grew. Sheryl became compelled to share the gifts that yoga has given her with as many people as she could. After over a decade long career in Real Estate Development, she became a yoga teacher and founded Red Diamond Yoga in West Los Angeles in 2013 with her Mom, Arlene. The intention for this studio is to be a place where everyone can heal, practice finding gratitude, self-love and seek to reach their full potential. Red Diamond Yoga was born from an open heart and a genuine desire to share what Sheryl truly believes in, the power of vinyasa yoga to build awareness, confidence, concentration, coordination, strength, a sense of self – and most importantly, learn how to let go. Sheryl hand selects the most talented teachers she can find to teach at Red Diamond based on their compassion and expertise. Sheryl leads the community along with her Mom and her wish is that all students who practice and study yoga at Red Diamond feel empowered, learn about acceptance, compassion, how to take responsibility for their thoughts, and the importance of living in the present moment. From time to time Sheryl returns to teach classes but these days she stays busy running the studio and enjoying her own practice.
For the past 30 years I owned and operated a variety of businesses. In 2013 my daughter Sheryl introduced me to yoga. I immediately recognized the benefits of the practice. Together we decided to open our own studio. In June of 2013 Red Diamond Yoga was born. At Red Diamond I wanted to make sure the quality of instruction, beautiful environment and welcoming atmosphere were felt from the moment you entered. I oversee the general management and operations of the studio. The practice of yoga has improved my overall health, strength, endurance and focus. I am truly glad to part of this great studio.
Laetitia received her 200-hours Yoga Alliance certification in Venice Beach, California, including prenatal, therapeutic and restorative yoga.
She started practicing yoga to heal and relax her own body from Martial arts competitions. She immediately fell in love, decided to give more space to yoga in her life and eventually became a teacher!
Laetitia later decided to deepen her knowledge in therapeutic yoga and obtain a ‘Yoga for Cancer’ certification in New York allowing her to work with cancer patients and survivors.
She teaches to share a passion and help people to find their inner peace and joy.
In a fast-paced world, through a dynamic Vinyasa flow, she invites her students to practice compassion, stillness and to focus on breathing. Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like. As a martial artist you will sometimes see her adding a little bit of it into her classes!
Sara Schwartz discovered her love for yoga in India, 2008. The breath and meditation techniques showed her a newfound level of peace! Back in San Francisco she started practicing at Yoga to the People. At YTTP she found that strengthening her body strengthened her sense of self. She became 200 hour certified through YTTP in 2010. She and her husband Yancy Schwartz moved to New York and became 500 hour Dharma Yoga Certified in 2012. Sri Dharma Mittra taught her more pranayama and meditation techniques, along with a few of his 1,350 postures.
She likes to sequence classes that are about building strength and moving the spine. She hopes to connect the student to the teacher inside of themselves. Your intuition always points to the right answer!
Life can busy and hectic in this city. We can easily be pulled in many different directions and feel overwhelmed. All of this invokes stress on the body. This stress can manifest itself into different mental and physical ailments. Learning to slow ourselves down through breath and movement can help bring us into the present moment, helping you find some ease and dare I say....clarity. Whatever brings you to yoga is fine with me. Whether you have been practicing for years or have never practice before, I welcome you to class. There is something for everyone. I look forward to seeing you on the mat.
April is a California native and was always active in sports. She has been doing yoga for about 12 years and teaching for 10. She has practiced many different types of yoga, but settled mostly into an Ashtanga practice. She is a lover of the outdoors and the feeling it invokes. April holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Hawaii at Hilo where she attended on a full volleyball scholarship. She is a 500 hour certified yoga instructor from Yogaposer and has 2 spinning certifications from Schwinn and YAS.
Lindsay believes in the power of creativity! She grew up as a dancer and actress in New York theatre. In 2008, Lindsay moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA. During college, she began teaching Pilates in Santa Monica, until a fellow teacher introduced her to yoga, and from then on, and it was all yoga. Lindsay believes that through the practice of yoga, we can find the beauty in all things, even the most simple, and be grateful for them. Yoga gives us the tools to clear out the clutter in the mind and find the answers we already have. In addition to teaching yoga, Lindsay writes and directs plays for underserved communities in LA including the visually impaired, veterans, and at-risk youth. She believes in freedom of expression (whatever that means for you) and in embracing your power. Lindsay’s yoga classes are dynamic and energetic, incorporating music and connection to the breath– and most importantly, allowing lots of space for joy!

Ashley James' journey with yoga began in a recreational yoga class meant to complement her running practice. Breathing upside down in standing forward fold, Ashley drifted into a state she had never experienced before and was able to see the world from a new view, literally.
Yoga has helped Ashley move through divorce and breast cancer with grace and determination. She teaches to inspire students to move and live in a more mindful and intentional way. Students can effortlessly challenge their boundaries and leave with a renewed feeling of invigoration, awareness, and belonging.
Ashley James holds a 200hr YTT certification from True Flow Yoga in alignment based vinyasa and 200hr YTT certification from The Kundalini Research Institute in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. When she's not practicing yoga, you can find Ashley eating vegan donuts, hanging with her two dogs, Baloo and Roo or waving to the moon.
Originally from Iowa, Laura began her yoga journey in her home city, Ames, in 2006. Like many practitioners, Laura's yoga practice began with physical curiosity and injury management. As the practice deepened she found the mental clarity, spiritual, and emotional growth that grounded her into developing a life long love for yoga. After receiving a BFA from the University of Illinois, Laura moved to Los Angeles and began her yoga teacher trainings. She received her 200 hour certification from Yogaworks in 2013 studying under the mentorship of Carolina Goldberg and Jeanne Heileman. After this transformative experience, she began teaching publicly and privately throughout Los Angeles. Laura continued her teaching education and received her 300 hours through Yogaworks, studying again with Carolina Goldberg. Laura teaches yoga to help each person learn, live, and fully encompass their own element. When the body, mind, and heart are balanced, aligned, and open we can recognize and begin to live our truth and our fullest potential--our element.
Drinie Aguilar, E-RYT 500, started a consistent yoga practice while she was a college student in Australia to help with her flexibility as an athlete, and later deepened her practice while working in Singapore as a Sportscaster. After learning about the depth of yoga outside of the physical practice and experiencing the profound effects that it had on her life, the calling to share yoga was one she couldn’t resist.
Since 2009, she made the transition to teaching yoga full time, and has taught classes in Southeast Asian countries like Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines before she moved to Los Angeles. She is certified in Anusara-inspired Hatha, Bhakti (the path of love and devotion), and Prana Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Trance Dance of Shiva Rea. Her dedication to learning is insatiable, and continues to learn from master teachers like Dharma Mittra and Annie Carpenter along with her daily practice of Ashtanga yoga.
You can expect her classes to have creative vinyasa sequences that include playful transition of arm balances and inversions, laced with some inspiration from yoga philosophy. Drinie is also a certified life coach, Pranic Healer, mother and martial artist.
Cassie is the Operations Manager for Red Diamond Yoga. She is also works a professional dancer and teacher. She is originally from Rochester, NY. Her first introduction to movement was through dance. She studied dance growing up and completed a B.A. in dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. Cassie started practicing yoga to compliment her dance training and she finds it gives her clarity, strength, and healing. Cassie feels lucky to have found Red Diamond Yoga when she first moved to Los Angeles and she been with the team since 2014.
Daphne is an LA based professional dancer and yoga teacher. Her yoga journey began about 8 years ago taking a "yoga for dancers" class in college. She fell in love with the benefits of the practice and found that after class she felt a sense of clarity, confidence, and empowerment. Daphne holds a 200hr YTT certification that she received from Red Diamond Yoga in Los Angeles, CA with Liz Arch. Her classes are inspired by fluid movement, connection to the breath, with an emphasis on alignment and playfulness. You'll leave her class feeling at home with yourself.
Krista grew up in Los Angeles, and was trained in all types of dance since a young age. She has been teaching dance since the age of 16. Her quest to find new ways to condition and strengthen the body led her into yoga, which has changed and inspired her in so many ways. After completing her 200 hour RYT training at SoHo Yoga, she was ecstatic to begin sharing and deepening her newfound passion. She could not be more thrilled to be able to spread her love of movement through a new outlet. Because of her longtime love of dance, Krista feels most at home when she is moving, breathing, and flowing. However, yoga has also shown her the importance and benefit of stillness. She has found that yoga can bring powerful transformations into the body and the mind, and provides the most beautiful connection between the two.
Keya Merah Nkonoki, (E-RYT 200) is a joyful and encouraging Pregnancy & Postpartum Yoga Teacher, Birth & Postpartum Doula, Lactation Educator, and Birth Blogger with a passion for nurturing women through their entire birth process. She is certified to teach both hatha vinyasa (Yoga Works 200 hr w/ Annie Carpenter in 2008) and Kundalini Yoga (Kundalini Research Institute 200 hr w/ Krishna Kaur in 2005). She is also certified in Pregnancy Yoga (Golden Bridge 90 hr w/ Gurmukh Kaur in 2004) and Yoga for Youth (75 hr w/ Krishna Kaur in 2003) Keya has been working with pregnant families for over a decade, through her company Hariatma Birth (www.hariatma.com).
She lives in Culver City with her husband and two children, whom she credits the wake up call to live with more yogic awareness. You may catch her riding her bike around town with baby boy in tow! Her favorite book for expecting moms is “Birthing From Within” by Pam England. She is an amazing Culver City Yoga instructor and offers so much to mother and mothers-to-be.
Jamie's intention is to help people experience more joy in their lives and she does this through her passion for sound and yoga. Jamie plays Paiste Planetary Gongs and crystal singing bowls, and has been healing with sound for nearly 10 years. Along with holding Sound Baths she also holds private sound healing sessions, teaches "yoga and sound" classes, and holds sound workshops, trainings, and retreats. Alli Kritz became hooked on yoga after her first Bikram class in 2006. Certified through Core Power Yoga in Irvine in 2011, her goal is to instill that deep, inner-peace while giving students a challenging, total body workout. Her classes focus on toning the body with a Vinyasa flow incorporated with weights, guaranteed to make you sweat while rocking out to the latest house music. Alli's philosophy on yoga is this: what you learn on the mat, you take with you off the mat. Balancing on your hands is hard, balancing life is harder.
When she's not teaching or practicing, you can find her frolicking with her fur-babies (named Best & Worst), traveling the world and working on CEO Intimates, her fashionable pajama collection targeted to young women with breast cancer.
Jamie started practicing yoga in 2011 after her doctor recommended it to manage back pain. It was love at first savasana. After experiencing how a regular yoga practice helped soothe her body and calm her brain, she decided to learn more. Since then, Jamie has completed two teacher trainings, one in power yoga and one in yoga sculpt. She's been teaching yoga since 2013.
Her favorite yoga pose is reverse warrior and her favorite body part to strengthen is her core. Jamie loves the physical practice of yoga because it combines meditation with fitness. She thinks of her yoga mat as a place to reset and she hopes to give her students the same rejuvenating experience… while tightening their six packs.
Jamie has a graduate degree in Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. When she's not on her mat, Jamie works as an urban planning consultant. She knows how tough it can be to make it to her mat, but she also knows it’s always worth it.
To say that yoga saved her life is somewhat of an understatement. Annie found yoga when she first moved to Los Angeles in 2002. As with most early practitioners, it was in addition to a regular workout routine. After years of battling with an eating disorder Annie lost all mind-body connection. While in a recovery program, during which she was only permitted to practice a restorative form of yoga, Annie met a few amazing yoga teachers, who helped her through her recovery.
In 2011, she completed her 200-hour certification in hatha yoga at Liberation Yoga in Los Angeles. Annie continues her studies with Will Duprey as she works towards her 300-hour RYT (yoga alliance certified). She is certified to teach children, tween, and teen yoga, as well.
When she's not teaching or practicing yoga, Annie teaches 2nd grade to 22 exuberant seven-year old’s! Annie's classes draw upon the freedom of vinyasa flow as it purposefully connects the breath to each movement, with a sense of a lyrical dance
I want my body to do the most it can. I want to live fully, and that means moving fully. Spatial awareness has a profound impact on not only how we relate to others, but how we relate to ourselves and anything we touch. I teach to give people a sense of their parameters. So they know how to push their limits and move efficiently with and around others. We can all be better for it. Originally from Indiana, I got my first certification in Chicago in 2010. In 2011, I moved to Boston and continued to learn and teach. I relocated to Los Angeles in September 2017 for sun and adventures, and so much yoga. Previously an ACSM-accredited personal trainer, I am currently a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 teaching mostly Power Vinyasa, with additional certifications in Yoga Sculpt, Hip Hop Yoga, and Hot Power Fusion.
