Compassion is our priority! Your needs are unique and we want you to honor those needs on your mat!

Take rest, take water, take modifications, whatever you need to feel good is what we want you to experience.

Our practice rooms are gently warmed to a comfortable 82 degrees without any added humidity and we are NOT a HOT yoga studio which in comparison is typically practiced in well over 100 degrees with added humidity.

Being in a cold room can stiffen muscles and we want to encourage ease of movement but without over heating.

We believe heat should be generated from within to burn impurities and open pathways for healing.

Our yoga classes are intelligently sequenced with clear instruction and safety. Each class is well rounded designed to leave you feeling open, balanced, connected and calm.

We play good music to inspire movement!

Led Half Primary Ashtanga

The Led Half Primary Ashtanga class is a rigorous, accessible, and therapeutic practice that flows directly from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois' Ashtanga Primary Series. This is a vinyasa practice, which means bringing together the breath system and the movement system. It is led by a teacher who calls out the names of the āsana and holds a rhythm for the group. The same sequence is practiced every day—emphasizing the power of repetition to build strength, flexibility and health. Ashtanga is the forerunner of modern "vinyasa flow."

We will open and close the practice by chanting mantra. This is a perfect class for those looking for a more traditional yoga practice that will lead to a deepening and sustainable relationship to Self. While this is an all levels class and open to everyone, some basic knowledge and practice of yoga is recommended.

Mysore Practice

The method of practice taught in Ashtanga Yoga relies on the linking of yoga postures through prescribed movements and incorporates deep, even breathing and steady gazing with the eyes. The ‘vinyasa,’ or movement between postures, encourages the blood to circulate properly in the body, while the deep breathing supplies a rich source of pure air, oxygenating the blood and allowing the removal of unwanted toxins through the lungs. Internal heat is produced from within, and is described as burning up the impurities in the body, the toxins liberated from the tissues by each posture. Steady gazing in different places during each movement and posture, is an important element of the practice, and over time facilitates the state of meditation, having a profound effect on the steadiness and calmness of the mind.

"Mysore style" is the way that this practice is traditionally taught. This means that it is self-guided and self-paced. The student learns the proper sequence, one posture at a time and follows the rhythm of her own breath. The teacher is present to give individual assistance and instruction. By observing the student's practice overtime, the teacher gets to know each student and can keep pointing them in the right direction. Ultimately, yoga is a journey inward to the self. The goal is to discover the inner guru, the inner teacher, and learn how to confidently listen to that voice alone.
